YOUTH REDCROSS UNIT

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) in Valliammal College for Women is one of the avenues among NSS to the students to be pursued under Personality and Character Development Programme. It helps to conduct social and health awareness programmes. To create Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others. To encourage the students to extend their humanitarian services to the society. To develop leadership quality among the students. The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfil the same.

Activities conducted during the academic year 2023 - 2024

• The YRC unit of our college collaborated with Biomiicron Pharma to host an awareness programme on Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) on 01.09.2023, which coincided with World PCOS Day.
• Youth Awakening Day, observed annually on October 15th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, was celebrated this year with a lecture organized by the YRC Unit of our College on 13.10.2023.
• The YRC unit hosted an awareness programme on PCOD, PCOS, fertility, and infertility nutrition on 10.01.2024, in collaboration with OASIS FERTILITY, Anna Nagar.
• The YRC unit of our college collaborated with M-Power, an initiative of the Aditya Birla Trust, to arrange a Mental Health Awareness Programme on 02.02.2024, specifically for YRC students of the college.
