Valliammal Educational Trust

Valliammal Educational Trust was founded in 1968 by Prof. A.M. Paramasivanandam, an eminent Educationist, Philanthropist, and Prolific Writer with an objective of imparting quality higher education catering to all the sections of the society. Valliammal College for Women was instituted in the year 1987 with conventional courses such as B.Sc., Maths, B.Sc., Chemistry, B.Sc., Computer Science and B. Com., (General). It is permanently affiliated to the University of Madras and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The dedicated involvement of highly proactive Correspondent Thiru. Nitin Nambi is carrying on the legacy left behind by their predecessors Thiru. A. M. Arivudai Nambi and Thiru. A. P. Maikandan who ensured the phenomenal growth of the institution by offering need-based and application-oriented courses suited to the latest trends from time to time. Research Programme/s (Ph.D.) for English (Part- Time) was introduced in 2012 and for Life Sciences and Commerce streams are starting off soon.

Having a bountiful experience of 55 long years in the educational field and having crossed milestones one after another the college now offers 18 Undergraduate course and 7 Post graduate courses. The college has a sprawling campus with spacious class rooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, Net Labs with necessary computers and required software, Language Labs for imparting English Language and a vast library with several volumes of books, eBooks, etc. The college has an erudite and devoted band of 138 well qualified and experienced faculty members to guide and motivate around 3300 students to achieve their goals and realize their dreams.
